Today I attended the Senate Intelligence Committee Confirmation hearings for President Obama's nominee for CIA director, Leon Panetta. Under questioning from Committee Chairwoman, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Panetta pledged to reverse the CIA's reliance on outside contractors like Blackwater, saying the practice makes him "very nervous" although he said it might be suitable in some circumstances to use them.
