On Wednesday 26 March, Governor Jim Douglas made a public announcement that he was planning on vetoing the proposed marriage equality bill should it come to him. This was not unexpected. Governor Douglas has made it quite clear that he believes that marriage is between a man and a woman. However, he has been insulting us in this rationale that, somehow, someway, the House and Senate of Vermont cannot work on this legislation while also tackling the budget.
