We're at the halfway point of Passover, that point where every observant Jew begins to think "why on earth am I putting myself through this?" The bowel movements are few and far between, the meals begin to get extremely uninspiring, and the smell wafting from bakeries puts one in mind of Faustian deals. But of course, the reason we're doing this has nothing to do with earth whatsoever. So on that spiritual note, here are some heavenly bodies (I got a million of 'em!) for you to enjoy. Full story...
Sorry, I've been AWOL for a bit too long, at least as far as I'm concerned. I didn't have a chance for a Friday post, then I was out of town all weekend, through Monday.
Lest you think we in New York City want to keep all the fun for ourselves, you should know that this Saturday there is a nationwide, nay even global, coordinated protest against the passage of Proposition 8.
We did it, bitches, we kicked some serious people-power ass tonight!Unofficial estimates I heard were that close to 15,000 folks showed up for the New York City protest rally and march against the passage of Proposition 8 and for full marriage equality for all.
Happy Peaceful Protest Day! I will be joining (hopefully) thousands of other fired-up folks this evening to protest in front of the Mormon Temple in New York City.
I had quite the fun-filled weekend out in Cleveland. I've passed through the Midwest before and even spent two formative years of my childhood there, but this trip gave me a fuller taste (reminiscent of mayonnaise) of the region.
It's amazing what the removal of a national embarrassment can do for a country.
Today sucked at work. Busy as all hell and nothing but bad news hitting from all directions. I barely had any time to look at blogs or comment or do ANYTHING fun.
Despite the passage of the various anti-gay initiatives, today is a day of celebration. It's almost too much to comprehend: the end of the Republican regime; the first African-American United States President; a solid Democratic majority in the Senate; Fox News with nothing to cheer about; a New York Post front page headline that doesn't make me want to vomit.
My day started at 5:50AM when the alarm went off and I rolled out of bed so I could be at the polls when they opened.
Long-time readers may remember my post a while back about my friends Dan and Mark and their adopted baby girl, Ella.
