Someone in a Tree Mar 06 08I went to a performance of Lustre at PS122 With Joe.My.God. last night. Hosted by Justin Bond, it was a cabaret-format of an evening featuring Bond and a host of new, young trans-gendered and trans-philic (?) performers. It really was a remarkable show. This is not a polished work and some performances were uneven, or merely incomprehensible, but the raw energy and the power of many of the performers was impressive. Justin Bond is, as always, a force to be reckoned with and can make anything into art. His voice is not necessarily a pretty voice, but it is a voice with intention and clarity that can cut to the core of a song and pierce your heart with it. Full story...
