Someone in a Tree Aug 08 08Yes, yes, I know: Beijing Olympics bad; Tibet good.The 1936 Olympics were held in Nazi Germany, for pete's sake, and no one boycotted those, so let's all keep this in perspective. The mistake was made when China was given the original greenlight by the IOC. At this point I don't see the point in penalizing the athletes who weren't involved in that choice and simply want the chance to compete on a global stage in an environment that is SUPPOSED to be free of politics. I celebrate them, especially those that have worked so hard and traveled so far knowing there is absolutely no chance for them to win. Full story...
