I was walking home from yoga class the other evening, heading to Union Square. The open plaza was filled with people walking about and the usual group of young skateboarders working on their various skateboard tricks. As I approached the subway entrance I noticed two guys, and just the way they were standing together and somewhat heatedly conversing set my 'dar off.As I walked past, even though the plaza was full of other people, the first guy stopped me and asked, in a distinctively foreign accent, if I could point them in the direction of 18th Street. Knowing how tourists often don't realize that NYC streets run both east and west, I asked if they were looking for East 18th or West 18th, and where on 18th they were going. Full story...

I had a pretty good weekend, mostly because I didn't spend the entire time dashing from one thing to the next.

Got this from Towleroad. The tiny part of me that still remembers being picked last for kick-ball cringes at this, but the rest of me smiles bitterly at the comeuppance.
Trying to recap the weekend is kind of challenging, since so much went on.As everyone else has already posted about the national rally for marriage equality, I'm just going to give you my link to my Flickr photo set.
Sorry, I've been AWOL for a bit too long, at least as far as I'm concerned. I didn't have a chance for a Friday post, then I was out of town all weekend, through Monday.
Lest you think we in New York City want to keep all the fun for ourselves, you should know that this Saturday there is a nationwide, nay even global, coordinated protest against the passage of Proposition 8.
