My "Number"
Sexuality Happens Jul 14 08"So, um...how many people have YOU slept with?"This is one of those questions that seems like it really should be completely inocuous. "Why, I've slept with 2. or 200. or 2000." But the issue is two fold.I usually don't think about this that much. A) Because I can't remember the last time someone I was having sex with (or about to have sex with, or already had sex with) asked me what my "number" was...and if they had asked, it would have lead to a discussion, and B) because it doesn't bloody well matter to me whose number is bigger. I might be concerned if the other person's number was 0 or 1, because then I'd get nervous about being a representative of sex (like I was nervous when K told me he hadn't been with a female-identified person in some time, and I felt like "what if I fucked this up for women?").
