NH legislature expected to vote Wednesday on marriage-equality bill

Boston Globe reports that New Hampshire’s senate is expected to vote Wednesday on changes demanded by Gov. John Lynch to the marriage equality bill passed earlier this month.

Leaders of the Democratic Party majorities in both the house and senate are working to add the language Lynch suggested to a bill addressing unrelated marriage issues.

If it passes in both houses with the changes he asked for, Lynch says he will sign three related bills recognizing marriage equality. The legislation would take effect Jan. 1, 2010, making New Hampshire the sixth state (so far) that allows same-sex marriage. Full story...
