Michael Cudlitz plays a gay cop on ‘Southland’

   ::: Cable network TNT has announced that it will pick up the cop drama Southland which was cancelled in October by NBC before any episodes had aired from the show’s second season, AP reports. Beginning in January, the cable network will air the original seven episodes that were shown last spring on NBC along with six more that were shot for NBC, but never aired, AfterElton reports. During its brief tenure on NBC, the gritty drama won raves from critics, but lackluster ratings for the struggling broadcast network. LGBT entertainment sites and bloggers were particularly impressed with the show’s non-stereotypical portrayal of a gay cop, John Cooper, who is played by actor Michael Cudlitz. Full story...
