We won the marriage case in California. No need for hyperbole here; this is big; big in terms of what it does, big in terms of what it means, and big in terms of the opportunity for progress it gives us (I'll suggest some of the ways to take advantage of that opportunity below).
Simply having the California Supreme Court say that constitutional principles demand that marriage be open to same-sex couples is an enormous win. This Court has a remarkable history of leadership on civil rights and civil liberties. Full story...
Hot PR release in my inbox -- Sean Hannity will be there with the luminaries of the political right, and the flat earth, homo-obsessed bible-beating crowd, including special guest Stephen Baldwin!
Today, FRC Action announced that Sean Hannity, co-host of Fox News "Hannity & Colmes" and host of "Hannity's America," will address the third annual Values Voter Summit on Saturday, September 13th.
Kennedy, Clinton, Clinton, Biden, Obama, Gustav, Giuliani, Palin, and McCain: the American people have now been introduced to the latest cast of characters who will populate this year's most watched reality program, the 2008 Presidential Election.

Guilty pleasure, I know, but what struck me as notable is that they have had three non-traditionally-gendered people in the competition (I hestitate with "transgender" because I don't know for certain) -- a Britney Spears impersonator (hot!), a Tina Turner impersonator (eh.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
A conservative wrote this to me tonight. Blenders, please respond to any or all of the points he writes below.
UPDATE: McCain's remarks are below the fold.
OK. Go at it. McCain's vanity video is on now.
It's pretty significant that a McCain emissary dared to be seen hobnobbing with the Log Cabin Republicans, considering the strong anti-gay public position of the McCain/Palin ticket (and the watchful eye of Daddy D and the professional "Christian" set).
When can you discriminate against a transgender person? If one perceives an individual to be a crossdresser or a transsexual, but is "post-surgical" [has had genital reconstruction surgery (GRS)], is it discriminating against one because one perceives the individual as transgender, or discriminating against an individual because of perceived gender?
The difference between transgender discrimination and gender discrimination is no small thing.
