What's the matter with Kansas (aside from the Phelps hate machine)? Apparently a candidate for the state house in District 84, Gail Finney, who wanted to prove her homophobic mettle by running an email and robo-call campaign to defeat Inga Taylor, an out lesbian. She succeeded. By the way, Finney is a Democrat. If the first decision a presidential candidate makes about who will succeed him/her in an emergency is an indication of overall judgment, John McCain is unelectable.
In an August 2006 the Anchorage Daily News reported on the social policy positions of the candidates then running for governor, including GOP Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, Of particular interest are Palin's positions on gay marriage and state benefits for same-sex partners.
