Again, as with hate crimes legislation, the conventional wisdom on the Hill is that politically, a vote on repeal of this ludicrous policy can't stand on its own, despite massive public support to end the ban on gays and lesbians openly serving in the military.

The State Senate delayed a highly anticipated vote on same-sex marriage on Tuesday, putting off the issue indefinitely as gay rights supporters continued to lobby for additional votes.
