British Troops to March In Londons Gay Pride
Lesbiatopia Jun 14 08A British Ministry of Defense spokesman said Saturday that soldiers and airmen serving Her Majesties Army and Royal Air Force would be allowed to wear their uniforms to this year's London Gay Pride March on July 5th.Last year General Sir Richard Dannatt, the Chief of the General Staff, The head of the Army, forbade soldiers in uniform to participate, as did Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy, the Chief of the Air Staff, but this year, under pressure from higher ups in the Ministry of Defense, that decision was reversed.Gay rights advocates in Britain have welcomed this decision, but the Ministry of Defense said it still expected its personnel to display "behavior of the highest order" while in uniform.
