FBI: Antigay Hate Crimes Rise In 2007
Advocate Oct 27 08The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported a 6% rise in antigay hate crimes for 2007 even as hate crimes overall dropped by 1%, reports the Associated Press. The FBI recorded more than 7,600 incidents of hate crimes last year, with the highest number of them being motivated by racial bias, then religious bias, followed prejudice against sexual orientation. Analysis of those categories showed that the majority of those crimes were anti-black, anti-Jewish, and anti-gay. Full story...
